Paulig Group

Paulig Group is a food company group with Risenta and Santa Maria among the corporations. With 1,900 employees spread across thirteen countries, Paulig was in need of a strong HR system enabling the global organization and decided to make Verismo the master program.

– Integrating systems is always a challenge. Verismo has provided very strong support during the process, says Petra Börjesson, Integration Architect at Paulig Group and project manager of the integration of Verismo.

Paulig Group is an international organization working under the mission “Exploring great taste”. The group includes coffee, world food and flavoring, snack foods and natural healthy food. After trying Verismo, they were so pleased they decided to make it the master system of the entire organization. We asked Petra a few questions about the integration process:

What is the biggest challenge when it comes to integrating systems?

– You have to learn a lot about the systems in order to understand the best way to integrate. All applications represent different companies with different world images. So it is a lot to get acquainted with. It is not always easy to find new ways for different systems to understand each other.

How does an integration work in practice?

– It is about trying to find a path that works between all systems. In this case we have chosen to use iCore as a broker between Verismo and our other systems. We use Sujitzu for HR management and salaries and the cloud-based Creuna for our EPI-based intranet. We are several people involved in the project and my role is to be the facilitator. I keep in touch with the staff from HR, salaries and intranet trying to find out how it actually works in their end of the system. I also had several meetings with Fredrik Wallén, CEO at Verismo, to find out more about their mindset as developers of the system. I try to come up with solutions to the challenges we encounter along the way.

What has been the most enjoyable during this project?

– Verismo has provided a very strong support and backup throughout the process. They have been extremely good to deal with and I think that is their great strength. They are technically knowledgeable and skilled in their system and have constructed it in the most suitable way. They also went out of their way to design a web service for pictures, based specifically on Paulig and our needs, which we highly appreciate.

What happens now?

– From here we will continue to integrate Verismo with our IDM (Identification Manager) and hopefully it will go as well as the integration towards our AD (Active Directory) that we already successfully completed. We are still in the phase where we are dependent on how the system will evolve, what direction Verismo takes and what new applications that eventually will be connected. It feels exciting, concludes Petra Börjesson.
